It is a wonderfully breezy, easy kind of place to unwind and relax, an oasis of natural beauty year round – where care and sensitivity to the environment have made Tranquility a special retreat for the eye and soul.

Tranquility is nestled in the trees on a secluded knoll above Fish Bay on the one side and the luxuriously secluded Reef Bay on the other. Fish Bay is a quiet residential area on the south shore with a mix of residences and vacation villas. Only 10 minutes from Cruz Bay, it is convenient for trips to St. John’s North Shore beaches or dinner in town.

Honeymoon couples have especially enjoyed the tropical appeal of Tranquility with its special blend of nature and romance, spectacular sunsets and a panoramic view of the night sky in a quiet setting amongst the trees. The villa can also accommodate a small family - the futon in the den opens to a full size double bed with an overhead ceiling fan to cool the room, which opens onto the front verandah with a view of the bay. There is also a twin size daybed in the master suite, which has a king size bed and optional A/C.

Tranquility is a very private and unique little villa with high ceilings and 1,000 + sq. ft of living space, which includes wrap around decks for sunning, sunset viewing and stargazing. A full kitchen, lovely dining area, cozy den, bedroom suite and a large bathroom are new and freshly furnished. Its’ interior reflects the best of Caribbean simplicity in taste and design including all the amenities and conveniences desirable for a carefree, memorable island experience.

The house is surrounded by big shade trees to the back and sides, offering complete privacy, while the front view of the Bay affords a clear vista of the water and a full panorama of the incredible night sky. You will fall asleep to the gentle sounds of the virgin forest and wake to the soft sounds of birds singing.

Enjoy the natural cooling provided by the canopy of native shade trees and the glorious trade winds wafting through the open and spacious little home, or use the recently installed optional air conditioning in the large master suite. Tranquility is eco friendly; solar panels heat the water and a short nature walk along a garden path carries you through an herb garden to the large (15 x 30') pool. Guests are welcome to pick fresh basil and other herbs for their salads and will enjoy having the pool to themselves.

Short walks will take you down a path to the breathtaking Reef Bay within the National Park and to Cocoloba Beach and other nature trails. Reef Bay has a luxurious, long beach and is a shell seeker’s dream. Off the beaten path and with no roads directly to the beach, it is possible to have this famous National Park beach all to your self!

Tranquility’s builder is a fine craftsman, which is reflected in the beautiful floors inlaid from a gorgeous selection of South American hardwoods and other distinctive touches of a true artisan. The owner, a local artist of international renown whose artwork enhances the easy charm and comfort of this well-appointed villa, has decorated Tranquility.

All furnishings, fixtures and linens are new and fresh. The artist's husband landscaped many of the finest properties on the island including nearby Guavaberry Farms, a veritable Garden of Eden, which blends ecology with pure native and exotic beauty.
